Over the years we’ve designed books for Harper Collins, Chronicle Books, and private clients like Lynda.com and American Illustration. In those instances, we are dedicated to creating dramatic work without any behind-the-scenes drama. We push the envelope, while keeping a firm eye on deadlines and cost, and keeping everybody’s blood pressure under control.
Play for Us = Efficiency for You
Our own books are where we conduct our research and development. We pull out all the stops, and sometimes push them too far to see what that looks like! Since 2004, we’ve published six books on a variety of topics—a non-fiction book on graphic design, a coffee table book of photography by over 200 designers, a book about monsters, a book about medals awarded for achievements in dating and romance, a self-help book composed entirely of questions, and a children’s book starring an alphabet of digitally sculpted characters. Along the way, we’ve sold a lot of copies, won a gratifying number of awards, and have spoken about the work at companies, conferences and schools from San Diego to South Africa.
These books represent the creative id of 344 Design. It’s where we let loose and try new things. These books, along with other self-initiated projects, inform our more respectable corporate work and keep it free of ego. It’s our job to make your life easier, not to fill our portfolio. We cover that on our own time, and we thought you might like to know that.
Should you like to own a copy of any of these books, the images link to their respective order pages.
